Toolbox session on Kyoto

Yesterday we (Abel, Brandon, Ye and me) attended the toolbox session on the Kyoto Protocol.

We learnt a lot, such as Australia's vital dependancy on coal. The protocol actually allows more greenhouse to be produced in Australia while others are attempting to reduce theirs. America and Australia spent a lot of time (and taxpayers money) on ratifying the traty only to reject it in the end. What John Howard is trying to say (from my point of view) is that Australia is such a small polluter that there is no point in trying to reduce our emissions. Carbon trading sounds like a good idea but it may be a little harder in the real world.

The tollbox session was useful to me in providing information and an overall explanation on how the Kyoto Protocol actually works.
